The first quarter of 2021 saw the return of Global Breaking Championships in Houston, Texas, with the Break Free Worldwide Championship Series. With five prestigious events held throughout the year for artists and athletes to compete in, the first two of the year were a major success for the burgeoning culture of professional, competitive Breaking.
With competitive Breaking on a path to the 2024 Paris Olympics Games, Break Free Worldwide has curated events in 2021 that serve as prestigious and high-caliber productions that look to elevate the status of the culture. An open round of qualifications start the event, where upwards of 500 competitors take part to vie for a top-32 spot in male, female, and youth categories. The biggest event of the series is coming up with Break Free Day 2021, held July 16-18.

Taking part at Pasadena Convention Center in Houston, Texas, $13,500 in cash prizes are on the line for the weekend. A press conference will be held with the top eight competitors in each category on Sunday, July 18 at 4 pm that is open to the public and all media outlets.
